It's an interesting time to do a bathroom remodel and a good time to be in the reno/construction business. More and more people are buying and updating their houses but also don't want to run to Home Depot 300 times in a pandemic on DIY. Lots of companies in our area are booked.
Anyone ever use Lowe's or Home Depot to do a bathroom or kitchen renovation in your home? How'd it go? Just curious if their pricing, quality of work, etc, was on par with independent contractors. I'm trying not to get burnt by a contractor and am imagining that going with one of those stores would limit my risk. Archived post.

Willing to pay for quality work, but don't want to get ripped off obviously. Has anyone used HD? Hi was your experience and any idea what the cost is for a super small bathroom? The one thing about the price point is that Home Depot will still be around if say, your bathroom floods from an install. If Joes plumbing and Construction does the job and he's gone in a year you're screwed. They generally are going to buy the cheap s*** at Home Depot.
Structure the deal so you purchase the tile and grout, fixtures, accessories; the GC only provides labor and building materials (drywall, wood studs and blocking, etc.). My mom, despite my warnings that she was getting ripped off, decided to get a soaking bathtub installed by a company. She ended up paying about $12k for the company to remove the old bathtub and install this soaking tub along with the wall coverings and fixtures.
