Tub Drain Kit Reddit

Would I reduce from drain kit to the 'thin' sink drain pvc and drop into slip joint? I do not have access so would need to reach down to connect after tub install. I spent about 30 minutes in the plumbing aisle of Home Depot connecting different parts and I'm still totally stumped - any help would be greatly appreciated! We ordered the Moen 1.5" threaded tub drain kit with push and lock drain assembly, Model T90331NL and the Moen Tub drain rough in kit Model 140690 and the Moen conversion bar Model 142538. All this came to about $135 and add some pipe parts, easily trimmed to fit and proper pieces, we designed out own system and it's beautiful and works great! I'm going to replace three current twist type tub drains with toe tapper type drains.

I'd welcome some advice. 1. The flanges (or shoe - the metal part that seals or screws to the PVC drain and stays in the bottom of the tub) have become pitted and corroded.
